Actuated Ball Valves

Actuated ball valves use an electric or pneumatic actuator to automatically rotate the valve to the desired position.

At Valworx, we offer a wide assortment of actuated ball valves for sale that set the standard for performance and durability. We make valve buying quick and easy. We build, test and ship the same day you place your order.

What is an Actuated Ball Valve?

Actuated Ball Valve

Actuated Ball Valve

Standard quarter-turn ball valves use handles for manual operation. For actuation, some ball valves feature a mounting pad cast into the housing for mounting directly to pneumatic or electric actuators. When paired with actuators, these assemblies are known as actuated ball valves. Actuated ball valves are typically used for On/Off or modulating control of water, air, oil and other compatible media.

Actuators give users remote and automatic control. This automation eliminates the need for workers to interact directly with the valves.

Valworx actuated ball valves with electric actuators or pneumatic actuators are used for valve automation applications. Actuated valves are available in brass, stainless steel, PVC and sanitary materials. Valve types include 2-way and 3-way ball valves.

Electric Actuated Ball Valves

Electric actuators convert electrical energy into torque through an electric motor that turns the valve 90°. The torque is transmitted to the valve stem, thereby rotating the ball valve. Electric actuators are offered in AC or DC models.

Our electric actuated ball valves incorporate many innovative features, including manual override, highly visible valve position indication, integral anti-condensation heaters, position confirmation switches, over-torque protection and weatherproof enclosures. They can accommodate a wide range in terms of pressure, flow and temperature and come with many unique benefits, including:

  • Full port valves for unrestricted flow
  • Maintenance-free operation
  • Modulating or On/Off control
  • Wide media compatibility

Air Actuated Ball Valves

Air actuators, also known as pneumatic actuators, control ball valves by converting compressed air energy into torque. Pneumatic actuators can be either spring return or double-acting. Spring return pneumatic actuators use air pressure to open the valve and springs to close it. Double-acting pneumatic actuators use air for both opening and closing the valve.

Like electric actuated components, our air actuated ball valves withstand higher flow rates, temperatures and pressures than standard valves. They also feature numerous advantages, such as:

  • Long service life (1 million+ cycles)
  • Factory lubricated for maintenance-free operation
  • Highly visible position indicator
  • Wide variety of options, including positioners, pilot solenoid valves and electric limit switches
  • Hard anodized aluminum chassis
  • Fast cycle times
